Bairnsdale is a regional city and the Capital of East Gippsland; the famous Lakes and Wilderness area of Eastern Victoria. Endeared with natural beauty and assets such as the Greater Gippsland Lakes (largest inland lake system in Australia), 90 mile beach, Bass Strait, Mountains, National Parks aplenty, the mighty Snowy River, ski fields, famous Buchan Caves and so much more.
The East Gippsland region hosts the farming towns and lands of Omeo, Benambra, Swifts Creek, Orbost and Lindenow; the seaside tourism towns of Lakes Entrance and Mallacoota; and the lakeside boating towns of Paynesville and Metung.
The City of Bairnsdale is the capital service and industrial centre and the region's headquarters for government agencies and services such as hospital, myriad health services and education including tertiary, trade, secondary colleges and many primary schools.
The Central Business District of Bairnsdale is the retail hub of East Gippsland with national stores; K-Mart, Coles, Safeway and many national franchise companies. Bairnsdale is the home and headquarters to Patties Bakery the local company that grew from a cake shop into a nationally listed ASX company that bought back Four n Twenty pies from America. Another large employer is Vegco, national fresh pack vegetable manufacturer; this company is literally growing our economy.
All this natural and economic activity culminates in the continual steady growth of Bairnsdale.
Affordable residential land is always required. Over the last 20 years a huge residential precinct of 2,500 lots has been developed and completed. More residential lots are need to meet the continuing demand.
